Two pranksters who snuck into the AFL grand final are unlikely to be charged, police have confirmed.

The Perth pair filmed themselves sneaking into Optus Stadium to watch the Melbourne Demons take on the Western Bulldogs and uploaded their antics to YouTube.

The pair donned high-vis work shirts as disguises and filmed themselves carting a trolley towards the stadium and right past security.

Acting Police Commissioner Col Blanch said on Wednesday although technically there may have been an offence, the two Youtubers are unlikely to face criminal charges.

In the video, one of Australia’s biggest sporting events is happening in Perth for the first time — and one of the nation’s most heavily guarded.

“And with tickets being 450 bucks, we’re sneaking in,” one of the pranksters explains.

Once they arrive at the ground, they describe there being “50 gates and nobody’s watching”.

“We’re getting in old-school, no tricks, no fancy stuff, we’re just gonna walk in,” one of them says.

“The only problem is there are cops, all near the gate … let’s do it.”

They managed to sneak into a lift and into the stadium, before stripping off their hi-vis gear to enjoy the game with a beer.

Acting Police Commissioner Col Blanch said the two Youtubers are unlikely to face criminal charges.

“That’s not something I don’t believe we’re going to progress from a criminal perspective,” Mr Blanch said on 6PR Breakfast on Wednesday.

“Technically there could be an offence, but what’s in the public interest here is to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.

“We can’t endorse it, but certainly we wouldn’t want to put it through the court system.”
