KFC SuperCoach Buy Hold Sell Round 24

SuperCoaches have been dealt a blow with a popular cheapie heading back to the reserves.

Rabbitohs revelation Tyrone Munro was looming as a play in 17s this week in a great match-up against the Dragons, but has been demoted to 19th man. See every round 24 team change and KFC SuperCoach analysis.

WINNERS FROM TEAMS

* Tino Fa’asuamaleaui 2RF/FRF $808,400 - Big Tino returns after a lengthy suspension and the big fella is no doubt keen to rip in for his team. With a good workrate and attacking stat potential, he would be a straight out ‘BUY’ if it weren’t for the fact that he plays Panthers (Rd 25) and Storm (Rd 26) and those clubs are very good at limiting the SuperCoach output of opposition.

* Ronaldo Mulitalo CTW $448,500 – The popular SuperCoach player is back for the Sharks after missing two weeks with a concussion suffered at training. The Titans match-up is great this week and he’s dropped so much cash it’s hard to sell to anyone.

* Payne Haas (FRF $668,400), Reece Walsh (FLB $646,600) and Broncos players – Good news for those hot on Broncos – and plenty are with Haas in 74.4 per cent of the top 10 per cent of sides and Walsh in 14 per cent. The coach has said he won’t rest any players in the run home as they aim for the minor premiership, which is obviously music to the ears. But the Broncos do have the bye next week so ...

* Jacob Preston FRF $569,000 – The Bulldogs are back from the bye so plug in Preston if you need to. With a 5RA of 65.7, he’s far more than serviceable.

LOSERS FROM TEAMS

* Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad CTW/FLB $658,500 - Last week’s popular buy is out with a third concussion this season and may need a long-term sit. He will miss this round at a minimum so I can completely understand those selling. However, if it is just the one match out the Warriors’ remaining draw of Manly/Dragons/Dolphins is very enticing and CNK is a definite play in each of those games.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad suffered yet another concussion on the weekend.

* Scott Drinkwater FLB $951,600 and Cowboys players – Drinky did not exactly crash back to earth as much as revert to the mean after a brilliant run from rounds 12-21. On a bye this week and has Panthers in round 27.

BUY

* Brian To’o CTW $746,700 - The Penrith right winger is on fire right now. After scoring just five tries in the opening 12 matches of the season he has scored nine in the past six including three doubles. Averaging 40(ish) in runs/tackle busts combined and in a team being pushed hard to secure yet another minor-premiership (thus with motivation NOT to rest stars), To’o is a great buy. He has a decent run home but not a slam dunk against the Sea Eagles, Titans, Eels and Cowboys.

* Latrell Mitchell FLB $719,900 - Averaging 73 since his return from injury, which is solid but hardly screaming “buy me.” Last week was another game in which Mitchell threatened, he probed and then scored 70 odd points in an ultimately frustrating result. The Rabbitohs are in the doldrums right now and Latrell is a part of that. But it’s Dragons this week, if any team could run him into form it’s them. Now the second but – and that is the draw after this week runs Knights/Bye/Roosters. Not ideal.

* Kalyn Ponga 5/8-FLB $1,024,200 - KP’s form over the past month or so has been nothing short of scintillating and he has a 5RA of 131. The remaining draw (Dogs/Souths/Sharks/Dragons) is decent and the surging Knights have plenty to play for so there seems little to no chance of Ponga being rested. Can you win your head-to-head grand final without him? Probably not. He will break the bank but he’s worth it.

* Shaun Johnson HFB $865,800 - Huge last week and best run home of any team. SJ bagged two pies and two assists against the Titans, combine that with his usual stat stuffing and his owners enjoyed a stonking 149 point effort. This week’s matchup against the Tigers is another that suggests plenty of points. Get in.

* Jamayne Isaako CTW/FLB $582,600 - This move feels a little like chasing points. Isaako was excellent last week scoring 124 points off the back of a hat-trick but his draw is not exactly soft. Prefer To’o.

* Nathan Cleary HFB $825,000 - Another obvious buy with an average of 98 since his return from injury.

HOLD

* Nicho Hynes HFB $779,900 - I sold Hynes to SJ last week and am not complaining about the 49 points that netted. I will note that Hynes managed 100 points against South Sydney last week and has a great matchup against the Titans this week so can see the argument to hold.

SELL

* Mitchell Moses HFB $703,000 - Moses to Cleary is the most popular trade of the week. He’s hard to fit him in given the strength of the HFB position, plus the bye in 27. Move on now to grab SJ or Cleary.

* John Bateman 2RF $535,300 – The recent stats are not great – 5RA 56 and 3RA 48. A solid worker who you don’t mind playing mid-season but lacks the ceiling to be a play now.

* Valentine Holmes CTW $765,600 - Naughty Val is suspended for the rest of the SuperCoach season so needs to go.
