HOME ALONE: KEEBRA PARK FORWARD HAS LIVED SOLO SINCE 16
Scores of budding rugby league players have commuted long distances to chase their dreams at Keebra Park but few have totally uprooted their lives for the school.
Utility forward Yorel Alapaki is one of them.
At 16 the South Auckland product left his tight-knit family behind to move to the Gold Coast for a chance to attend Keebra Park. He’s lived alone in an Ashmore unit complex ever since.
This is his story of sacrifice and determination.
LITTLE BROTHER OF KEEBRA ROYALTY RETURNS TO HAUNT FAMOUS SCHOOL
The kid brother of Gold Coast Titans prop Moeaki Fotuaika has snubbed the school his brother made history at to break free of his shadow and blaze his own trail to the NRL.

Palm Beach Currumbin forward Bailey Martin might not look like it but the 174 centimetre lock could be the toughest teenager in Queensland rugby league.
Martin was 16 years old when his school coach Brad Davis selected him to represent Queensland’s Cities. During training camp Martin dislocated his shoulder.
Usually that would mean six weeks on the sidelines from the moment he regained full range of movement.
Martin chose to play on that weekend anyway. He did it for his mates.

COACH’S HEARTFELT TRIBUTE TO LATE KEEBRA STAR
Keebra Park coach Glen Campbell described Fotuaika as the glue that held the 2009 Keebra pack together as they marched on to their own national title, the first in the school’s history.
Three years, six months and 22 days later, Mosese Fotuaika took his own life after suffering an injury that would have ruled him out of the Wests Tigers’ 2013 NRL season.
Rugby league in Australia, especially at Keebra Park, would never be the same.
