COOMERA’S UNDERDOG FFA CUP (2019)

The magic of the cup was alive and well this season as Coomera, who only scraped into the Gold Coast Premier League’s top four, reached the national stage before falling to Mackay and Whitsundays in the Round of 32.

An honourable mention also for Surfers Paradise, who made the same stage in 2016 before winning the Premier League grand final.

PALM BEACH DOMINATE WITH NPL DOUBLE (2014)

Competing in the NPL Queensland’s maiden season in 2014, the Sharks romped to the premiership by seven points before sealing the double with a 3-2 victory over Olympic in the grand final.

Having finished runner-up to Lions FC for the premiership, the Gold Coast Knights ensured they would not end the season empty-handed with a hard-fought 2-1 grand final win over Olympic on Sunday night – the first time NPL silverware had returned to the Glitter Strip since 2014.
