A GHANAIAN-born 15-year-old is rapidly making a name for himself with Gold Coast Premier League finals hopefuls Nerang.
With injuries hitting the Eagles squad hard, striker Joseph Fallembu has come off the bench in their last Premier League fixtures, including Saturday’s 5-0 thumping of Tweed United.
A member of Nerang’s Academy of Football Australia, Fallembu bagged his first goal in a 4-3 victory over Mudgeeraba nine days earlier and said he was beginning to feel at home in the top flight.
MILLER MAKING MOST OF UNITED CHANCE
“I’ve been a little nervous at the start but once I get out there the boys make me feel like I’m part of the team and I can do anything, I’ve just got to show them what I’ve got.
“David tells me to go at (the opposition) and that’s what I have to do – go in 100 per cent, don’t pull out and give my all. (I want to) pay him back that faith that he has put in me.
WARRIORS’ WOMEN FINDING THEIR FEET
“(At the AFA) we’ve just been taught to put it all on the line and go in after every ball ... even if I might not be able to make it, I’m still going to put that challenge in to win every ball, to beat every man, and if you get taken out that’s just part of it – that’s what football is.”
Fallembu’s rise comes as fellow 15-year-old, Melbourne City’s Idrus Abdulahi, become the A-League’s second-youngest debutant against Central Coast on Friday night.
