Desperate to end a competitive winless streak approaching three years, Robina have their sights set on a maiden FFA Cup victory in the 6.30pm Round 2 battle.

Having last won a game midway through the 2016 Coast League One, the hosts have undergone significant change in the off-season, headlined by the arrival of former Tweed United assistant Nathan Mulhearn as head coach.

With captain Justin Barwick, midfielders Grant Wernerson, Aaron Bull and Jarryd Georgiou, defender Tom Beverly and attackers Deni Skopljack and Mitch Calley also joining the club, they have gone unbeaten in six pre-season games.

It is a run they are confident will continue against Logan.

“We have been slowly coming together as a side,” Mulhearn said.

“The players had never played together before so we are still a fair way away from getting anywhere near where we can be. We have a deep first grade squad of about 20 players who can do a job for us.

“Obviously, we have some players like Justin who have played for some time in the Premier League, but we also have some players who haven’t played on the Coast like Jedd Sugden and Nathan Duck. On top of that, we have some exciting players graduating from our under-18s in Max Lines, Harrison Jones and Danny Shapiro.

ON-FIELD DUTIES JUST THE START FOR NEW LEADERS

“We have cast our net far and wide to scout the Logan Roos and what we do know is that they will have some very talented players. We have been told that their best is outstanding, yet they lack discipline and their worst can be a shamble.”

In other Round 2 fixtures today, Kingscliff travel to Surfers Paradise (4pm); Nerang face Burleigh at Glennon Park (4pm); and Coomera host Virginia United at 5pm.

Broadbeach United travel to Kangaroo Point at 2.30pm tomorrow.
