GOLD Coast sporting contests have been thrown into chaos as rain continues to pelt the Glitter Strip.
Racing at the Gold Coast Turf Club has been abandoned this morning after the car park and track was flooded.
The Gold Coast Titans have also been forced to cancel a planned player signing session and summer camp clinic due to the rain.
“With flooding causing road closures, it’s in the best interest of the safety of our members and fans that they do their best to stay off the road,” a statement read.
“The Titans will work with Robina Town Centre to secure another date as soon as possible.”
Gold Coast cricket competitions have been thrown into chaos with a number of grounds flooded and games cancelled following heavy downpour overnight.
All junior and senior cricket games have been cancelled with many pitches across the coast flooded.

The Nerang Bulls field has also been inundated by the heavy rainfall.
“At the moment, you can’t get in to the fields at all,” said Nerang president Heath Claydon.
“The water is up to the 22 mark on each side of the field.
“I haven’t ever seen it like it was this morning.
“The water is up to green gate on council road.
“This morning it was one massive lake between the soccer fields and our fields.
“The only thing we were going to go do today was strip the kitchen out but we’ve had to delay that because we can’t get into fields.”
The Southport School’s rain gauge in the groundsmen’s area recorded a reading of 266m overnight.
