Palm Beach-Currumbin have lost two players to injury but seem to have covered well in the rundown to the QAFL qualifying final.
The Lions lost Steve Thynne (hamstring) and Dale Neuhaus (ankle) during their loss to Labrador last weekend, and both will miss the clash against Western Magpies at Salk Oval on Saturday.
But the good news for the Lions is that small forward Kristen Higgs should be right after two weeks out with concussion, and they should have Southport-listed Stuart Donnelly and Tom Thynne available to them.
Depending on selections at the Gold Coast Suns reserves table, Lachlan Ritchie, also Southport-listed, may be available.
Coach Chad Owens said ruckman Jon Croad should play.
“He has a broken nose from last weekend but he’ll be right,” Owens said.
If the Suns lose to Sydney University in the NEAFL, Palm Beach can expect gun teenagers Max Spencer and Jacob Dawson to be right for the remainder of the club’s finals campaign.
The Lions and the Magpies have shared the spoils this season, both winning games against each other at home.
Surfers Paradise are also in finals action this weekend, playing away to Mt Gravatt at Dittmer Park in Brisbane on Sunday.
