Burleigh coach Tahnee Norris is keenly eyeing a State of Origin showdown between NSW’s Millie Boyle and her Queensland-aligned club teammates Chelsea Lenarduzzi and Tallisha Harden.

BURLEIGH coach Tahnee Norris is keenly eyeing a State of Origin showdown between NSW’s Millie Boyle and her Queensland-aligned club teammates Chelsea Lenarduzzi and Tallisha Harden.

Fellow Bears Amber Pilley and Tazmin Gray will also line up for Queensland but it is the above three who will be locked in direct combat as middle forwards.

Harden represented the Maroons last year whereas Lenarduzzi is back after missing the 2018 squad; Wallaroos rugby representative Boyle is making her Blues debut.

“I can’t wait to see it,” Norris said of the match-up.

“They go against each other in training obviously and in contact sessions and things like that and they go pretty hard when they are doing that so it’s going to be pretty interesting when they’re playing against each other.

BRENNAN ON WHEN BOYD COULD DEBUT

“Whether there’s a bit of chat on the field, I can’t wait to see what happens.”

Boyle becomes only the second Bears women’s player to represent NSW after Norris, the all-time most-capped Jillaroos player.

Norris also played for Queensland at one point during the State of Residence phase but is a Blue at heart.

WHY AIKEN WILL BE A HIT IN NRLW

She believes Boyle could come onto the Australian radar before long.

“Her work ethic and how she is around the team, she’s just so easy to coach. She just wants to learn and get better,” Norris said.

“She has got massive potential for the sport.”

The annual women’s Origin clash will be held at North Sydney Oval next Friday night.
