A FOUR-wicket haul from Gold Coast Dolphins spinner Matt Kuhnemann could not stop Wests from seizing control of their Queensland Premier Cricket clash at Robina on Saturday.

Looking to extend their unbeaten two-day run to four games, the Dolphins were forced to toil hard after losing the toss, with the Bulldogs piling on 8-384 from 96 overs.

Fresh off a Queensland debut at the JLT One-Day Cup in September, Kuhnemann finished with 4-138 from 38 overs, while Josh Kann (2-52) and Max Bryant (2-69) were the other wicket-takers.

Sam Truloff was the star for Wests with 167, combining with Pat Collins (74) for a 164-run opening stand.

DECISION REACHED ON CONTROVERSIAL CUP CLASH

Jonte Pattison (38 not out) was the next top-scorer for the Bulldogs, who dished out a nine-wicket thumping when the sides met in a one-dayer in Round 1.

Play resumes at 10am on Sunday.
