A win is a win but Keebra Park State High School Titans Cup coach James Chapman knows his side must go to another level if they are to challenge in 2020.
After gifting Marymount College a quick start in their Round 2 School League match, Keebra fought back to take a four-point lead into half time before “struggling” to a 20-12 victory.
Chapman heaped praise on Marymount’s defence for disrupting momentum but was adamant his side failed to reach their potential.

“It was pleasing to get the result but I thought we lacked a lot of energy and were really flat in periods so we have a lot of improvement left in us,” Chapman said.
“It (lack of energy) came out of nowhere and we struggled to really gain ascendancy.
“I was disappointed in the overall game but the most pleasing thing was in the last five minutes, they had a lot of possession on the try line and we managed to hold them out which is a big take away for us.
“We were great the week before so we’re hoping it’s just a one-off.
“Everyone showed glimpses of their potential.”
Jackson Yow who shared the field with his brother Mitchell was named Keebra’s best while captain Seth Nikotemo stood up at crucial moments.
Nikotemo finished with one try while Elijah Lui and Elijah Mikaio finished with two each.
