Ironwoman storms into series contention in Nutri-Grain Round 2 at Gold Coast

COOLANGATTA Gold champion Lana Rogers has put herself in a commanding position heading into the final three rounds of the Nutri-Grain series after taking out Round 2 at Burleigh Heads on Sunday.
The Noosa ironwoman finished ahead of Lizzie Welborn of Newport and returning Northcliffe Star Harriet Brown who has missed the past year with injury.
Reigning series champion Georgia Miller and Brown had generated a small lead half way through the race before Welborn and Rogers pushed up to make it a four horse race heading into the final three laps.

Just two weeks after taking out the Dragon Run ski race in Hong Kong, Danielle McKenzie made up considerable distance during the ski leg to but it was Rogers who caught the first wave into shore and cruised to her second win in as many races.
Welborn, Brown, Miller and McKenzie rounded out the top five.
Rogers leads the series with a total of 40 points.
