Resuming at 2-68 in reply to the Dolphins’ 265, the defending premiers clawed their way back into the contest at 7-198 – courtesy of quickfire knocks from Bernard Bester (88) and Josh Brown (76) – before two wickets from Matt Kuhnemann (2-38) and Trent Arnold (1-37) ended the fightback at 239.
Day-one destroyer Josh Kann, who will make his debut for the Queensland second XI on Monday, finished with 7-87 from 20 overs.

The Dolphins then used the second innings for batting practice, reaching 5-211 from 53 overs as captain Max Houlahan found form with an unbeaten 83.
The result has all but ended the minor premiership hopes of Norths, who entered the game in top spot but level on 82 points with Wests and University of Queensland.
The Dolphins, who sat ninth before the win, host Redlands in the final round on March 2-9.
