GAINING entry into an event like the Australian PGA Championship can prove tough, but getting into the venue isn’t usually a problem for those that do.
KDV Sport player Daniel Nisbet nearly had his hopes of making a charge for the Joe Kirkwood Cup in 2016 dashed when he was denied access to Royal Pines.

“One time I forgot my player’s pass and I had to park outside on the street because I wasn’t allowed into the clubhouse car park,” Nisbet said.
“I had to walk about 500m into the course with my bag and the only reason I could get into the course was because the security guard recognised my name on my golf bag.”
The situation arose ahead of Nisbet’s third round at the tournament after making the cut following the opening two days.
Incredibly, the 28-year-old managed to shake off the stress of the morning to shoot five-under par in an event he went on to finish tied 62nd.
