“Since moving to the Gold Coast (in 2013) we have found a wonderful host venue in RACV Royal Pines Resort and we look forward to working with them to host the Australian PGA Championship again in 2019,” PGA of Australia CEO Gavin Kirkman said.
“The commitment from RACV to Australian golf, particularly in Queensland and Victoria has been far reaching through a number of programs and events, and their shared vision for the Australian PGA Championship and the golf course should be highly commended.
“What we have been able to achieve with the Greg Norman Medal, MyGolf Kids Day, Soniq Million Dollar Hole and now the Oakley Gold Coast Beach Club, all with the support of RACV, has taken the Australian PGA Championship to a new level of fan entertainment.”
The tournament was previously held at Coolum between 2002 and 2012 before shifting to Royal Pines in 2013.
It led to a multimillion-dollar redesign of the course, led by Graham Marsh in 2015.
