COOMERA Cubs manager Andrew Azzopardi said he isn’t afraid to swing the selection axe this week as his side continues to fight for form.
THE BLUEWAVES STAR WHO CHOSE GBL OVER ABL
The Cubs lost both games in their two game series against Greater Brisbane League rivals Surfers Paradise on Wednesday and Sunday to stay within reach of a playoffs berth.
After going down 6-0 on Sunday afternoon in a rain affected match, Azzopardi said he would look at changes to his line up to address the wavering form.
“I’m going to make a few changes this week to try and get some guys going,” he said.
“We’ve got some guys in B-Grade who are playing really well so I’m going to give those guys who are swinging the bat well a try and see if they can ignited with some of the Americans in A-Grade.”
WHAT A NEW CLUBHOUSE WILL DO FOR THE COOMERA CUBS
Azzopardi was confident that his side would eventually play to their potential despite being one of the mixed bags of the GBL season so far.
“We’ve been up and down a lot but that’s baseball,” he said.
“I can’t find too many positives in the games we’ve lost so we need to be more consistent.
“We’re trading water at the moment and doing enough to stay afloat but I’m waiting until we hit our straps.”
