BOOM second-rower Brendan Piakura has waited and waited to make his debut for Palm Beach Currumbin. What better time for his opportunity to finally arrive than the Reds’ grudge match against Keebra Park?

Piakura has been rested from Allan Langer Cup games thus far due to his involvement in Tweed’s Mal Meninga Cup premiership campaign and the Queensland under-18 State of Origin squad.

“I have been waiting for so long,” Piakura said.

“I hate going to watch all of the games, I’m just itching to get in and get my first game.”

PBC have won three of their first four fixtures, including defeating Wavell last week.

“The boys really stepped up and they played phenomenally,” Piakura said in a glowing assessment of the win.

His move across to PBC – where he has slotted in on the left edge alongside halfback and captain Toby Sexton – was all about footy.

“Coombabah got dropped out of the Allan Langer Cup and I wasn’t too keen on (playing second division) – I want to play against the best,” Piakura said.
