ANTHONY Mundine never got the chance to run out on to CBUS Super Stadium during his rugby league career ... now he’ll fight there.
The polarising athlete flew to the Gold Coast at the weekend to finalise his contract for his bout with local kickboxing hero John Wayne Parr.
Officials on Monday announced the Cbus Stadium fight would be staged on November 30.
Despite hanging up the NRL boots in 2000, the 44-year-old said that the lure of fighting in front of a packed league stadium meant nothing to “The Man”.
“I’d fight him in a telephone booth,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter where we fight.
“I’ve fought in stadiums, Adelaide, Sydney now Gold Coast.
“As long as there’s a square circle and I’m prepared physically and mentally, I’ll fight anybody.”

After he was sensationally knocked out by Jeff Horn on November 30 last year at Suncorp Stadium, Mundine retired before announcing he would return to the ring in search of redemption.
“Somebody is going to go down and it ain’t going to be me,” he said.
“It’s (the fight) landed on the exact same day as last year.
“They should call this fight the redemption fight because I’m going to redeem myself.
“What happened happened but I want to show the people that I’m still the man.”
While he was complementary of Parr, who faces his first boxing bout since 2003, Mundine said he held no reservations about showing the 10-time middleweight world champion up on home turf.
“I go to their home towns and beat them in front of their family, it doesn’t matter,” Mundine said.
“I’m fighting a living legend.
“He never gets the recognition that he deserves.
“I think he really wants to get that notoriety and beat the man.”
Mundine also revealed that he tried to arrange a fight with Parr back when the latter first entered the boxing ring in the later 90’s, but will instead fight the 43-year-old to prolong his professional career in two months’ time.

“He won the middleweight title and it didn’t eventuate but it would have been a great fight,” he said.
“I’m going to base my future on my performance.
“I have to deliver first, then if I’ve still got the want or the need to school these young cats there’s a few options.”
Around 12,000 tickets will be on offer for the fight which will cost around half-a-million dollars to produce but promoter Steven Wijangco that more tickets would be made available should interest exceed the current capacity.
“We’re starting at 12,000 capacity with the option to expand to 27,000,” he said.
“It’s history in the making.”
Tickets go on sale on September 18.
