Stingrays Colts coach Colt Isham and juniors coach Lance Tongakilo were named division coach of the year after successfully guiding their sides through undefeated seasons, culminating in the chance to become Sunbowl champions this weekend.

“Lance and Colt winning coach of the year is both very well deserved because they put in a lot of effort at training and games,” said Stingrays president Craig James.

“They also have great support staff who have put in a stellar effort this year which hopefully finishes with a Sunbowl win.”

COLTS: STINGRAYS TITLE HOPES TO REST ON NEXT GENERATION

A number of individual players were recognised for their seasons as well.

Colts rising star Jayden Paludan was named offensive MVP and also wide receiver of the year while junior Clarke Vorhauer won defensive back of the year.

Stingrays female star Riley Hodgson took out MVP and defensive back of the year while Aroha Tulloh won defensive MVP.

“The calibre of players recognised is outstanding and we had a lot of success with the juniors and colts which is exciting for the future,” James said.
