Rockhampton Grammar will play Shalom College on Tuesday in a game that will decide their respective finals opponents. Watch three games of schools footy LIVE and EXCLUSIVE.

Completions will be key for Rockhampton Grammar when they tackle Shalom College in a vital Dolphins Cup clash on Tuesday.

With the teams locked on four points apiece, this showdown will determine who finishes third and fourth and who each will face in the playoffs.

You can watch the game, as well as the same schools battling it out in the Dolphins Challenge and NRL Schoolgirls Cup, live and exclusive of Kommunity TV.

Shalom comes into the contest fresh off a bye, Grammar off a heavy 40-12 loss to The Cathedral College last week.

While they will welcome back a number of troops who missed last week, Grammar co-coach Nathan Doyle said his team would need to be a lot better against a Shalom outfit which boasts size and speed.

“Completions will be a big one for us,” he said.

“We completed at 47 percent the other day; you’re not going to win an under-6 game with that.

“It’s all between the ears for them now. They’re fit enough, they know what they need to do, it’s just about them turning up ready for the battle.

“Shalom are a different beast down in Bundaberg than when they’re travelling so hopefully we can snatch the win on our home ground.”

Doyle said skilful centre Leo Fanuatanu was one of Grammar’s most influential with his explosive ball-running and bone-jarring defence.

He also expects big games from hooker Jonty Coutts, who “throws himself at everything that moves”, and Year 11 enforcer Jake Gillard in the front row.

Shalom would look to prop Riley Morcom, lock Luke Giles and dynamic centres pairing of Parkka Perrotta-Dowling and Kyan Edwards to carry on their impressive form.

Doyle said Grammar would need to bring plenty of intent in their tackles.

“They’ve got some big boys so it’s about cutting down their time and space,” he said.

“We need to be getting off the line as quickly as we can to reduce their opportunities to really wind up and come at us.”

Grammar and Shalom’s finals opponents will only be decided on Tuesday, with reigning champs St Brendan’s and TCC battling it out for the minor premiership in the other Round 5 fixture.

Doyle said either side would be a tough prospect.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re third or fourth, you’re still going to be up against a pretty strong side in either St Brendan’s or TCC,” he said.
