Hundreds of footballers played for a spot in the AFLQ Schools Cup finals on Tuesday at Metricon. Here are the top performers.

TWENTY-FOUR teams and 17 schools competed in the AFLQ Schools Cup semi finals on Tuesday at Metricon Stadium.

The day was hotly contested by tournament favourites and underdogs alike, with many matches going down to the wire.

Powerhouse AFL school Palm Beach Currumbin once again won all four games to make finals, where they will be aiming to defend titles in the Junior Female, Junior Male and Senior Female divisions.

Senior Male reigning premiers Helensvale once again advanced to the finals after a tight match up against Iona, while the competition ended with Mountain Creek suffering a heartbreaking loss to Nudgee.
