Brisbane Broncos-aligned middle forward Mamele Misa turned into a rugby league superwoman last Saturday when she played two matches for Souths Logan - just over an hour apart.
A No.13 or prop, Misa was the best player in her 50 minute stint in the club’s 36-6 under-17s win, and soon after played strongly for 45 minutes in the under-19s 26-12 triumph against Burleigh.
The Mabel Park State High senior could be seen wearing down the defence when she ran the ball hard and often.
“She is a player with great potential who is on the production line at the Broncos. If everything runs to plan, she will be in the NRLW for years to come,’’ Souths Logan coach Matt Fitzgerald praised.
Misa, whose older sister Amanii was an Australian Schoolgirls gun last year, headlines an elite Super Five of players who shone in round 3 and was among those first picked in the Harvey under-17s and under-19s teams of the week.

Maycee Brown (Capras)
Was Maycee Brown destined to play any other sport other than rugby league - and be very good at it? The answer is no if this image taken in 2017 is any indication.
It is a picture of Brown at a rugby league coaching clinic aged just eight years, a photo that says a lot about how much she soaked up the contact in the toughest sport played in the world.
The best player in Capras’ outstanding team performance in round 3, the second rower grew up playing for the Calliope Roosters, south of Rockhampton.
The Calliope State School past student played club footy, and then got her teeth into the code even more when she moved to The Cathedral College in Rockhampton.
Sedeequa Nelson (Clydesdales)
Nelson is one of those out of the box raw talents who just loves playing footy.
As a child you can imagine her down the park or on the street mucking around with the football, and that instinctive play is evident in her game today.
It is why she was such a good fullback growing up in a position where she could roam with freedom.
Aged just 15, what Nelson is learning to do now is to mix her crafty natural skills with structured halfback play which is needed to run a side at this level.
It is a delicate mix, but is something she is working on and which will be helped by the more experience she gets.
But for now she is a kid playing footy and enjoying herself. And that is important.
Nelson and Hayley Wainwright, another 15-year-old from the Clydesdales, were among the first chosen in the Team of the Week this week.
Mamele Misa (Souths Logan)
An outstanding middle forward prospect, Mabel Park SHS student Misa is as impressive off the field as she is on it.
“Much like her sister Amanii, Mele is starting to make her mark,’’ Magpies’ mentor Matt Fitzgerald said.
Mamele was a remarkable iron woman at the weekend, playing 50 minutes in the under-17s and another 45 minutes in the under-19s.
When you consider she is playing the toughest position on the field as a middle forward, it really was a remarkable performance. The Magpies also came out on top in both matches.
Mamele Misa is joined in the Souths Logan under-17 squad by her younger sister, Siannah Misa.
Tahli Flux (Jets)
Ipswich dummyhalf Tahli Flux caught the eye first with her crisp service and then with her harassing defence which often sees her punch well above her weight.
A defensive sledgehammer from the Brothers club in Ipswich, Flux forged a great reputation for herself as a leader within Brothers’ under-15s side last year in South East Queensland’s girls competition.
She was prolific in 12 games, scoring 14 tries and accruing two doubles and a hattrick to ensure she was the first choice No.9 for the Jets. She has exceeded any expection, having been a tone-setter for Ipswich in the three games to date.
Her tenacity was again to the fore in defeat last Sunday.
Enah Desic (Tigers)
At Tigerland there was also another dummyhalf making a name for herself.
Enah Desic, a Marsden State High talent, was at her brilliant best on Saturday steering Easts towards a 3-0 start to tbe season. The Tigers latest success was a 28-6 away victory against the Dolphins, where Desic scored a try and kicked four-from-five conversions.
The Tigers are yet to drop a game in this competition and the class of Desic, the captain, is a big indicator as to why.

HARVEY U19 FABULOUS FIVE
Joshalynn Walker (Tweed Seagulls)
In a largely one sided contest, the rising fullback was a true standout with her side storming to a 60-12 victory over the Falcons.
Walker finished with two tries of her own but it was her work off the ball that really troubled the opposition defensive line.
Her attacking communication, support play and passing skills meant she played a role in almost all of Tweed’s try scoring chances.
Walker was well supported by second rower Kiara Wright and her halves pairing Savannah Roberts-Hickling and Natalia Hickling.
Mia Byrnes (Clydesdales)
The Clydesdales had to be on their game to win a game against a Jets side which contained - and Darling Downs’ dummy half Byrnes showed the way for her side.
She scored a 30m stunner early to get her side pointed in the right direction.
As has been the case for the last two seasons, she has been a game-changer for the region’s representative teams, making the right passes at the right time, and choosing her moments to attack wisely.
On Sunday, she had that class about her while always working hard.
The 2024 Harvey 17s Team of the Season fullback, Byrnes ability to play the ball quickly also led to an important try.
Hayley Bush (Wynnum Manly)
A bayside enforcer to the core, the Queensland U19 Emerging State of Origin squad member has been a tower of strength for her side.
The Redlands junior has put steel into the Seagulls’ side, with her effective running and courageous defence against plenty of powerhouse opponents.
Bush was very good last year, but you sense a stint playing senior women’s league for Beenleigh during the second half of last year, coupled with her being a year older, has taken her to another level this season.
Bella Alo (Souths Logan)
Alo was a part of the Magpies U17 last year and has made an impressive transition into the older age group this season.
On the weekend she displayed speed and anticipation to chase a kick and score.
Around that she was a constant threat. The Stretton State College product also seemed to be able to cover multiple roles on the field at short notice.
Her versatility is a godsend this season for Souths Logan.
Fanua Rimoni (Devils)
The Devils have been boosted this season with the addition of towering prop Fanua Rimoni, an imposing two-try terror last weekend who came across from Wellington to play in this competition.
Rimoni, arguably Norths’ most damaging prop through three games, hails from the beautiful town of Wainuiomat.
Back home, Rimoni was a young enforcer having been a part of Wellington Pride’s women’s team in the esteemed National Provincial Championship.
On Australian soil she has maintained the rage both scoring tries and setting the foundations for a greatly improved Devils outfit.
