Noah Anderson polled 22 votes in Monday nights 96th annual Brownlow Medal count, the most by any Gold Coast Suns player.

Anderson finished with six best on grounds and polled two votes back-to-back in rounds eight and nine.

Now, the 22-year-old wants to take his game to the next level as the Suns chase their finals drought.

“I didn’t expect to poll that many to be honest, I knew I had some good games but was a little shocked,” Anderson said.

“There was a game that I got best on in, I think it was the week after Dewy (Stuart Dew) left.

“That would have to be my favourite game, I think from memory it was one of my better games.

“It was very nice to be up on the leaderboard for a while as well.

“I will reset the mind and body now and restart the focus in a few weeks when we all get back to training.”

Anderson was crowned the Suns Club Champion for the first time, edging Sam Collins and Matt Rowell for honours as Gold Coasts top award.

He, like many other Suns players were in Melbourne to watch Gold Coasts VFL side win their first grand final against Werribee on Sunday.

“It was great to see them win, great to be down in Melbourne for the game and support them,” Anderson said.

“They had such a great year in the VFL and seeing the emotion after the game makes us really want to chase that even more.

“There were good signs this year from our boys and we know we are on the right track.

“Just about being consistent now and stringing those back-to-back wins together.”

Despite the rivalry with Brisbane and the Gold Coast Titans, Anderson said it is pretty awesome to be a Queenslander at the moment.

“I didn’t have Lachie (Neale) as the winner, he had a great season don’t get me wrong, very well deserved,” Anderson said.

“We do have the rivalry with them, but good luck to them this week, it is a great time to be a Queenslander.

“Same with the Titans as well, we have that footy code rivalry but safe to say I think all of Gold Coast is getting behind them this Sunday.”

Anderson finished 10 votes ahead of Matt Rowell and 14 ahead of Jack Lukosius in the Brownlow Medal count.
