D-DAY has arrived for the Gold Coast Dolphins, with their Queensland Premier Cricket finals hopes to go on the line against Toombul tomorrow.
Already 17.75 points adrift of fourth-placed Norths, the Dolphins will resume their run chase at Ken Mackay Oval knowing defeat – or a washout - will likely put paid to their playoff aspirations.
Lining up in their third-last two-day fixture, the visitors dismissed Toombul for 237 on day one last Saturday before stumbling late to finish 4-80 at stumps.

After losing openers Jack Hargreaves (26) and Scott Palombo (0), the Dolphins were left ruing a crucial call against Hugo Burdon (12), who was given out caught despite protests Toombul wicketkeeper Patrick Cotter had grassed the chance.
To add insult to injury, they then lost in-form Liam Hope-Shackley (23) in the final over of the day.
However, their victory hopes will be boosted by the return of representative trio Max Bryant, Matt Kuhnemann and Xavier Bartlett, who have come in for Jack Cooper, Matthew Grant and Nathan Lyons respectively.

Gold Coast’s first grade women can all but wrap up the Katherine Raymont Shield’s one-day minor premiership when they travel to Wests on Sunday.
Twelve points clear at the top of the table with three games and a bye to come, the Dolphins will take on a full-strength Bulldogs side boasting Queensland Fire stars Kirby Short, Grace Harris, Holly Ferling, Josie Dooley and Courtney Sippel.
