KFC SuperCoach Plus: All the key numbers you need to know for the final rounds of the BBL season

There final two rounds of KFC SuperCoach BBL have finally been locked in. But what about your trades? Here the stats you need to know for the final week.

25,000 is the most important number in KFC SuperCoach - the prize for the team that finishes on top after 13 rounds.

But we’re still not there yet, and you will need to know all the other numbers to get there. That’s where SC Plus comes in.

Plenty can change between now and the final ball, anyway, like the BBL fixture which has been altered again, giving the Renegades and Hurricanes a bye in Round 12 before a double-game round to finish the year.

Add to that two games for the Sixers and Heat, including the postponed clash which has now officially been scheduled for January 19, and it’s set to be a huge end to a big KFC SuperCoach summer.

Here are 11 other important numbers to help guide your final trades.

$40,000 – Striker Matt Short’s approximate price rise after his huge 130-point performance against the Heat on Wednesday night. It means Short, who took 2/13 after a quick-fire 27 with the bat, will be priced just over $170k for Adelaide’s Round 12 double.

$190,000 – But thankfully teammate Rashid Khan, after his incredible six-wicket haul, will also enjoy a steep price rise to around $190k before he leaves the BBL. That’s right, if you haven’t heard, the star spinner has played his final game for the summer. Use the cash injection wisely.

28,939 teams – Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who will need to trade him, with 50 per cent of KFC SuperCoaches in the same boat. Melbourne Stars’ Pakistan international Haris Rauf, who has made his way into more than 3000 teams after returning in Round 8, will play his final game of BBL11 on Thursday, after being called back by his PSL team.

$75,000 – That’s how much value Strikers batter Jake Weatherald has lost in KFC SuperCoach this summer, after struggling for form and being moved around in Adelaide’s line-up. He’s batted at three different spots in his past four innings but he walked to the crease after the fall of the first wicket in his two most-recent games. And there were better signs against – an albeit inexperienced – Heat side, with the left-hander hitting 35 off 31 balls, on his way to 45 KFC SuperCoach points. But that’s still less than his breakeven, meaning Weatherald, who averaged 43 points last summer, will still be available for less than $60k for the Strikers’ double

-15 – That was Peter Siddle’s breakeven in Round 11 but, thankfully for non-owners ahead of the double-game round, the Strikers skipper finished with just 37 points against the Heat. He’ll still be priced at more than $180k, but, after taking 14 wickets in his previous six matches, he’s still one of the top Round 12 trade targets.

72.6 – Unless there’s another big century from Glenn Maxwell on Thursday night, the Aussie star’s price, which was $165k before Round 11, is set to drop again. But the Stars play a Strikers outfit without Khan in Round 12 and Maxwell averages 72.6 KFC SuperCoach points against them in his past five matches. Can he turn it around? He’ll get another two chances.

4.3% – Stars spinner Qais Ahmad was in just 2,448 KFC SuperCoach teams ahead of Round 11, despite posting scores of 72, 95 and 122 in his previous three matches. He failed to take a wicket in the first of the Stars’ two games in Round 11, but with another double on the horizon, he looms as a great point-of-difference. Especially given his price is likely to remain at around the $150k mark.

130 – SC Plus tells us that with a 75-point score in Round 11, Sean Abbott’s breakeven will sky rocket to around 130. So, with the Sixers postponed fixture against the Heat officially re-scheduled for January 19, Abbott will finish the KFC SuperCoach season with a double-game round. He could still score well in the single in Round 12, but he could also be more affordable if you wait a few days.

88 – In his past six matches against the Renegades, in-form opener Ben McDermott has posted KFC SuperCoach scores of 1, 124, 65, 72, 64, 202. Even with the failure in the final minor-round match of BBL10, that gives McDermott an average of 88. Not that you needed any more reason to pick the player who has hit two centuries and a 93 in this summer’s tournament already. Just be aware of the change of fixture which will see the Hurricanes have the bye in Round 12, before a double to finish the year.

-506 – No, it’s not a breakeven, it’s the Brisbane’s Heat KFC SuperCoach points differential in the past two matches. The squad has been severely hit by Covid, and the Hurricanes and Strikers have made light work of their top-up-heavy team recently. The Heat will take on the Stars, Sixers and Scorchers to finish the KFC SuperCoach season.

-478 – There hasn’t been as many Covid interruptions but the results have been similar for the Renegades, who have conceded 478 more KFC SuperCoach points than they’ve scored in the past two matches. After also being given the bye with the fixture change, the Renegades play the Hurricanes and Thunder in Round 13.
