Rodriguez came out firing and landed some decent shots but one uppercut from Sylve was all it took to send his opponent crashing to the canvas in the first round.

He was seeing stars and didn’t survive the standing eight count and that was all she wrote.

Sylve is only 18 years old and with his eighth straight victory via knockout, the youngster has a very bright future ahead of him.

MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin tweeted: “Well that was quick. Ashton Sylve with a first-round knockout to move to 8-0. He just flattened Braulio Rodriguez with a counter punch and that’s it.”

Sporting News’ Andreas Hale said: “Holy moly. Ashton Sylve just destroyed Braulio Rodriguez in a matter of minutes. Absolutely nuked him. 8-0, 8 KOs. That woke this crowd up.”

Sylve made a statement before the fight had even begun, walking out to the ring dressed as a Minion from the Despicable Me movies.

After taking off the Minion onesie – Sylve completed the look with blue, pink and yellow shorts and gloves.

The bold costume sent social media wild but Sylve’s performance ensured his boxing did the talking.

In the main event, Paul defeated Silva via unanimous decision (77-74, 78-73 x 2) to keep his undefeat professional boxing record in tact (6-0).

The YouTuber and the UFC legend went the distance but Paul was the more active fighter and scored the only knocked down of the fight in the eighth and final round.

It was Paul’s most impressive performance to date and while he is yet to fight a professional boxer, he called out UFC great Nate Diaz and boxing star Canelo Alvarez.
