ONE of the Gold Coast's most up-market resorts is almost unrecognisable after a multimillion-dollar facelift.
The Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort has unveiled its $6 million refurbishment to its more than 250 rooms, suites and eatery, Cove Cafe.
Renovations began in July last year to be finished in time for the new year.
The rooms have been redecorated to include modern fittings with white marble benchtops and a neutral colour pallet.
Large desks also allow guests space for both work and luxury.
Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort general manager Matt Rippin said: “The refurbishment artfully reflects the natural beauty of the resort’s grounds, embracing the green hues to blend in with the property’s unique design features including stained-glass windows in the Great House.”
The resort is still working to rejuvenate the property’s gardens and conference facilities.
Rooms and suites will be fitted with in-room iPad compendiums for easy-to-manage and more eco-friendly room services this year.
