Marketing agents Michelle and Jose St Ange, of Ray White Hope Island, said the magnificent six-bedroom, 10-bathroom house, which sits on a 5371sq m block, was now well and truly priced to sell, offering a cashed-up buyer one of the most secluded slices of the Hope Island Resort estate.
The property, owned by former Fraser Island barge and resort operators Sid Melksham and Angela Burger, contains a large private pontoon, three levels of luxury, a temperature-controlled swimming pool, a tiered theatre and a fully self-contained penthouse on the top level.
Mr St Ange said the land alone would be worth about $6 million, while the house cost about $6 million to build in 2004. It was then owned by boat dealer Gary Chuck, who originally put a $25 million price tag on it in 2007. During the campaign he was presented a $16 million cash offer but knocked it back.
Shortly after Mr Chuck got into financial strife and administrators moved in to sell the exclusive pad for $9.75 million in 2008, according to RP Data.
"This is one of the finest homes, it has just been so well designed," Mr St Ange said.
"It's even flat on the roof so you could land a helicopter.
"It's an inexpensive home in a place where life is very different."
