ASX 200 expected to bounce back despite fears over Delta strain

GLENN Molloy, owner of the most expensive riverfront house in Paradise Waters street Commodore Drive, has had a cracking 12 months with one of his investments.

The market value of his holding in the listed PPK group, at $62 million a year ago, has rocketed to $270 million.

The shares in the listed group, which is in a JV with Deakin University to commercialise the uni’s boron nitride nanotube technology, have raced from $4.30 to $20.

retiree makes $11.3m splurge

NOEL Holmes, a retired accountant who has become an astute property investor, has bought himself a treat – an $11.3 million beachfront property at Currumbin.

Noel, who late last year sold the cafe Dbah site at Point Danger, is the person who late last month took possession of a Darwalla Ave home on Currumbin’s largest beachfront block.

Seller Kathryn Conforti, a Neumann group director, has stayed in the area, buying a $4.8 million villa in Pacific Pde.

‘Willy’ to open new tapas bar

A BUILDING in the heart of Surfers Paradise that’s housed restaurants for more than 50 years is poised to host a business called Big Willy.

The tapas bar, next to Cavill Park at the western end of Cavill Ave, is planned by Pacific Fair cafe owner Aaron ‘Willy’ Wilson.

The building’s owned by Ted Fong, who ran the Springfield Chinese restaurant in it for 30 or so years before leasing it out to other restaurateurs until 2018.
