Quentin TodColumnist

Quentin Tod, who describes himself as an ‘old school’ journalist, started his career straight out of secondary school in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, in 1966. He was selected in 1978 to represent New Zealand as a Commonwealth fellow studying the newspaper industry in the UK. He moved to the Gold Coast in the 1980s and initiated the Bulletin’s business pages, a role which included editorial production of the Saturday real estate liftout. In 1987 he started the Bizzy Bits column, which still runs today. Quentin retired in 2004 but has retained a close and trusted relationship with many of the people he wrote about in his business editor role. He is a former champion long-distance swimmer and is an avid golfer.
