A MALAYSIAN sultan and his motor-racing son have taken a right royal shine to a Sanctuary Cove home, paying $6 million for it.

The new two-level home is in the resort’s latest land release fronting the resort’s harbour four.

Sultan Ibrahim of Johore and Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahim bought it in a deal settled in late July, property records show.

The house was sold by Kerry and Penelope Hall, who built it on an 806 sqm site costing $1.9 million in 2018.

The agent who was marketing the property, Harcourts Coastal Sanctuary Cove specialist Glenys Pitkin, would not discuss the sale.

Prince Rahman, 28, is aligned to the Triple Eight racing team and has competed in GT series in Asia and Australia with success.

He has co-driven with Triple Eight stars Shane Van Gisbergen and Jamie Whincup and with Whincup’s 2022 successor in the V8 Supercars series, Broc Feeney.

The Sanctuary Cove buy is a 432 sqm home which includes a top-floor master suite with twin dressing rooms and a fireplace.

The home has a media room and a guest suite, along with a glass-walled climate-controlled wine display room and a pool.

An 18-metre pontoon has room to moor two cruisers in deep water with Broadwater access.

There is a gatehouse and a security system.

The resort also has a security service.
