A FIFTH-generation Gold Coast family has been given approval to build a luxury tower in central Palm Beach.
The Gold Coast City Council green lighted Chippendale Group’s bid for the nine-level Eva Tenth Avenue on a 1641sq m beachside site on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway next to the future light rail route.
The tower will go to market in coming weeks and construction is expected to begin in early 2022.

Businessman Daniel Chippendale, who heads the firm, said he wanted the project to reflect his family’s history in the area.
“The inspiration behind Eva Tenth Avenue is about creating homes that allow others to share in the beauty of Palm Beach,” he said.
“We’re proud of our family history and wanted to reflect our legacy in creating a beautiful product to pay homage to the local area.

“My family has been here for generations and we have created many wonderful memories on the Coast. We want to share a part of our family history with others to help them create their own memories.”
The Chippendale family have had links to Palm Beach and Currumbin dating back to the 19th century, including helping to found the Currumbin Vikings Surf Life Saving Club in 1919 and popular Australian honey brand Capilano Honey.
The tower will have 48 units, including four giant penthouses.
One and two-bedroom units will sell from $475,000 to $670,000, with the larger units carrying a $1.35m price tag.
