Gold Coast housing prices skyrocket

PLANS for a new luxury “subtropical colonialism” style residential resort on the northern NSW coast have been unveiled.

Queensland-based developer Azure Development has lodged plans with the Tweed Shire Council for the 91-unit project on Casuarina’s Grand Parade, which will feature a mixture of apartments and terrace homes.

Azure director Trent Keirnan said three of the complex’s buildings would be four-storeys while one will have just two levels.

“Our vision for the Grand Parade site is to deliver something of lasting significance – to create a distinct and bold interpretation of a classic coastal place of international recognition while being authentically grounded,” he said.

“Figures show that vacancy rates are at an all-time low, underpinning the need for quality residences to meet the beachside haven’s continued population growth.”

Mr Keirnan said the project, which is aimed at the owner-occupier market would “encapsulate eclectic Anglo Caribbean and Island Colonialism styles.”
