THE Gold Coast is proving to be home to some of the smartest students in the state as final OP scores across the city are revealed.
The 2019 graduates yesterday received their Overall Positions (OP) for their admissions into university, many scoring impressive results.
This year is the final one to receive an OP score before the system is phased out.
Of the cohort, 18,000 received an OP score, ranking from a top score of 1, to 25.
Across the state 535 students earned an OP1, while a further 14,500 received an OP between 2 and 15.

All Saints Anglican College at Merrimac are celebrating some of their best results ever with almost half (42.1 per cent) of their graduate earning an OP between 1 and 5.
A total of 13 or 7.03 per cent of students received the top mark of an OP1.
A majority of the cohorts, (80.9 per cent) received a mark of 1 to 10 – a record breaking result for the school.
Headmaster Patrick Wallas said the class of 2019 had studied hard for many years.
“With many of our students having started at All Saints in Pre Prep or Prep, these results are a wonderful vindication of all the teachers who have guided and shaped them along the way and of course to their parents who have loved and encouraged them every step of the way,” he said.
“Whilst we are thrilled with these results, more important by far is the simple truth that this group leaves our school with a clear set of values, a sense of purpose and of their civic responsibilities and a determination to make a positive difference in the world.
“We shall miss them all a great deal next year.”

Elanora State High School also shared their results with the school community, with 100 per cent of students graduating with a Queensland Certificate of Education and 81 per cent with an OP between 1 and 15.
Keebra Park Stat High School revealed their success switch a an OP1 and OP2 student within their cohorts.
Further North in Coomera, Lutheran Ormeau District School (LORDS) saw close to half of all OP eligible students receive an OP 1-10.
Trinity College announced a whopping result of 10 per cent of their students scoring an OP1.
At the school 38 per cent achieved an OP 1 to 5 and 67 per cent achieve an OP 1to 10.
“We are filled with pride a their incredible achievement and our best wishes go with them as they take the next step in their learning journey,” as statement from the school read.
At Southport State High School 40 per cent of student received an OP 1 to 5.
Scores for Somerset College at Mudgeeraba, Benowa State High School and Varsity College were revealed yesterday.
