Hugh Jackman’s dog Dali dies: Star mourns French Bulldog

A devastated Hugh Jackman is mourning the loss of his “rock star” companion.

Hugh Jackman is mourning the loss of his beloved dog, Dali.

The Australian star shared the heartbreaking news with his followers on Instagram, announcing the death of his loyal French Bulldog.

“It’s a very sad day for our family. Dali, our beloved Frenchie, passed away last night,” he posted.

Jackman, 53, often posted adorable pictures of himself and the dog over the years.

The megastar was regularly snapped walking Dali, who was named after the surrealist artist Salvador Dali, on the streets of his adopted home town of New York City.

“He would’ve been 12 next month … which I’m told is a long life for this breed,” Jackman wrote.

“I always, always called him the ROCKSTAR. Because he was! He marched to the beat of his own drum, was beloved by the whole world, and boy did he have a good life.

“We will miss him but know he’s howling in heaven, ruling the roost and enjoying the all you can eat buffet. RIP Dali Rockstar Jackman. We love you!”

Dali was adopted by Jackman and his family in 2010.

Jackman’s fans have lapped up cute posts over the years with the star regularly sharing images of the dog.

The pooch was memorably pictured walking around Manhattan in a puffer coat and often visited Jackman on set.

Jackman —who shares son Oscar, 22, and daughter Ava, 17, with Deborra-Lee Furness —previously joked about Dali being undisciplined.

“When Dali joined our family, we had a trainer come to the apartment. He walked in and said “Oh you have a Frenchie ... I’m not going to waste my time or take your money,’” he recalled in a May 2021 Instagram post. “We love Dali. Trained or not.”

In addition to Dali, the Australian actor and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, also own another dog named Allegra.
