Katy Perry was rumoured to have been paid around $5m for her grand final performance.
But 3AW breakfast co-host Ross Stevenson has put that roaring figure to bed.
He claimed on Monday that the pop superstar cost $1.4m.
“I like it when you get together and people tell you things, people who do know,’’ he said.
“Katy Perry, her fee for performing at the AFL grand final at the MCG, was $1.4 million Australian.”
Stevenson’s co-host Russel Howcroft said: “Okay, so that’s a third of what I thought it would have been. Thank you, Katy.”
Perry performed her hits for nearly 20 minutes during the pre-game show, and sang I Kissed a Girl alongside guest singer Tina Arena.
In 2022 it was reported that Robbie Williams was paid just over a million dollars to perform at the AFL grand final.
His headline act was one of the most talked about pre-game shows as he lit up the MCG along with special guest Delta Goodrem.
Perry said she was doing her biggest stadium performance and she delivered.
Her Australian connections were strong with her glowing complexion courtesy of popular tanning company, Spray Aus, co-owned by Rebecca Judd, Nadia Bartel and Emily McKay.
She also wore jewellery by Australian brand, Gimme.
