A friend of a teenager who went missing earlier this month has revealed her final message.

Isla Bell was staying with family in Brunswick, Melbourne, when she walked out at 6pm on October 4 and hasn’t been seen since.

Police have now issued a missing persons appeal and her worried family have shared images of her online.

Now, Isla’s best friend has spoken out about her final conversation with her in which she shared that she had enjoyed a night out with a man she had been seeing.

The friend said she last spoke to Isla on October 7 - three days after she was last seen.

“She was just about to tell me all about her night, this new guy she was with, how and where she met him, she abruptly stopped replying before giving me any more details,” the anonymous friend said on social media.

“She was very eager and excited to tell me all about it, then radio silence.”

Another friend described how Isla would often go quiet for a few days due to ill health.

The 20-year-old’s family wanted to book a holiday to the Great Barrier Reef to mark her 20th birthday and tried to contact her to book flights but there was no reply.

Earlier this week Isla’s friend Tamara Griffiths wrote in a Facebook post: “If you see someone matching Isla’s description, especially in the company of an older male, please report it immediately.

“Do not approach or intervene - your safety is important too.

“Isla is deeply loved by her family and friends. Every share, every set of eyes looking out for her, brings us one step closer to bringing her home safely.”
