Police probe suspicious early-morning blaze at Braybrook home

Police are investigating the cause of a fire at a home in Melbourne’s west after firefighters rushed to douse the flames in the early hours of the morning.

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in Melbourne’s west Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a house in flames on Crothers Street, Braybrook just before 5.30am.

The roof was engulfed by flames when fire crews arrived. They searched the property for occupants but no one was found inside.

Police have set up a crime scene and are treating the blaze as suspicious.

The investigation remains ongoing — an arson chemist will attend the scene on Saturday.
