Emotional tributes have flooded in from friends and family of a young man who was found dead on the side of the road after a tragic motorbike crash north of Brisbane.

Emotional tributes have flooded in from friends and family of a young man who was found dead on the side of the road after a tragic motorbike crash north of Brisbane.

Burpengary resident Wezley Ian Mario Fortunato was killed in the crash at Morayfield on December 16.

Initial police investigations suggested he was travelling north on Nolan Rd when he failed to negotiate a left-hand turn.

A passerby found the 28-year-old dead at the scene shortly after 5am.

Friends and family took to social media in the days after his death to share their devastation.

“Fly high Wezley, you will be missed always and forever my bro,” one person posted on Facebook.

“I’m absolutely devastated, known him since he was four years old,” another posted.

Others, who were struggling to come to terms with the tragic accident, said they were in shock.

“Rest in paradise my brother,” one person wrote on social media.

“I am still in shock.”

Bianca Campbell, who knew Mr Fortunato from high school and his family through their local football club, said her family’s love and thoughts were with Mr Fortunato’s family.

“We have good memories of Wes at football and school. He was a top bloke and will be truly missed by many,” she said.

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate.

Any witnesses who were in the area before 5am or have CCTV or dashcam footage should contact police.
