A man has been charged over an alleged hit and run on the Gold Coast that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

A 42-year-old man suffered head, chest and leg injuries when he was struck by a car outside Pimpama Sports Hub on Bull Rd, near the intersection with Rifle Range Rd, at 2.11pm Friday.

Police have charged a 28-year-old Pimpama man with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault (domestic violence offence), and driver failing to remain at the incident and render assistance.

He is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on July 27.

It is understood the driver and the pedestrian were known to each other.

Investigations are ongoing to further understand their relationship and the events leading up to the crash.

Police are urging any witnesses to come forward.

In a separate incident, Queensland Police are investigating another hit-and-run that occurred on Friday night in Southport.

Preliminary investigations suggest that around 6.30pm, a man driving a grey Volkswagen Golf drove dangerously at a man in a car park on High Street, pinning him to a concrete pillar.

The driver fled the scene on foot.

The 31-year-old victim was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with a broken leg.

Meanwhile, shortly after 10am Friday, a teenage boy was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by a Ford Ranger. The 14-year-old was struck along Guineas Creek Road, Elanora, while riding a skateboard.

Three crews – including critical care paramedics – treated the teenager at the scene for life-threatening injuries, believed to have been sustained to his head.

On Thursday afternoon, a 58-year-old Molendinar man was also hospitalised with life-threatening injuries.

His motorcycle collided with a car on Cotlew St in Southport, near the intersection with Wardoo St, shortly before 4.30pm.
