Motorists faced heavy delays on the Smith St motorway on Wednesday afternoon after a truck and three cars collided.
Emergency services were called to the northbound on-ramp from Smith St to the M1 at about 3.25pm.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said six people were assessed by paramedics on scene.
Of those, four were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
As of 4pm, westbound traffic was backed up as far as the Smith Collective, with vehicles reported to be at a near standstill.
