M1 crash at Coomera River: Long delays after vehicle and motorbike collide

Traffic was again bumper to bumper on the M1 on the northern Gold Coast at lunchtime on Thursday after the third serious incident in just over 24 hours.
At 11.11am emergency services were called to an accident southbound on the bridge over the Coomera River after a vehicle and motorbike collided.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said multiple crews responded to the scene where they treated a male patient for injuries.
He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The accident led to major delays for motorists, with southbound traffic backed up as far as Ormeau. Police advised motorists to avoid the area.
It was the third serious incident to affect M1 traffic on the northern Gold Coast in just 24 over hours.
At 9.35am on Wednesday a bus and truck collided in Beenleigh, resulting in 11 people – 10 of them school students – being taken to hospital.
The students had been on a school trip to a Gold Coast theme park.
And on Thursday morning a truck driver lost his life after his vehicle crashed at Gaven at about 6am.
