Suncorp spokeswoman Ashleigh Paterson said the figures showed Gold Coast drivers needed to be careful towards the end of the week.
“The data reveals that Friday is the most dangerous day for crashes which cause injury,” she said.
“Peak periods of the afternoon are the most dangerous as you have people rushing home from a busy week, they are potentially tired and want to get away for the weekend.
“As we head into the Commonwealth Games it is more important than ever that drivers remain vigilant.”

The data was compiled after nearly 4000 compulsory third party insurance claims were analysed from September 2016-October 2017.
Brisbane, like the Gold Coast, experience the majority of its crashes on Friday afternoon while Tuesday was the worst day for driving in regional Queensland.
