Full list of road closures for 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games

MAJOR roads will be closed to the public in key Gold Coast suburbs from March 23 and through the Commonwealth Games with main arterial connections closed, throwing commuter journeys into chaos.

Motorists are advised to expect delays until April 16. 

Both Nerang-Broadbeach Road (between Chisholm Road and Ross Street) - outside the Carrara Sports Precinct - and Gold Coast Highway (in front of Australia Fair Shopping Centre near the aquatic centre) will be closed to the public. 

Here's the roads that will be affected throughout this year’s event.

-   Nerang-Broadbeach Road between Chisholm Road and Ross Street (March 23 – April 18, day and night).  Eastbound closed as of March 23. Westbound single lane closed March 27 – March 29. Full closure as of March 29 – April 18 (day and night)

-       Boulton Drive (April 4 – April 18)

-       Alabaster Drive (March 29 – April 18)

Coomera

— Beattie Rd between Dreamworld Parkway and Lorenzo Dr, also between Foxwell Rd and Dreamworld Parkway (March 30- April 16).

Oxenford

— Oxenford Studios internal road (March 31-April 16).

Southport

— Gold Coast Highway between Stevens St and Marine Pde (March 31-April 16).

- Nerang St between Scarborough Street and Gold Coast Highway (April 3-15).

MARATHON, TRIATHLON RACE WALK AND ROAD CYCLING:

There will be major road closures across the city during the marathon, triathlon, race walks and road cycling.

Roads in Runaway Bay, Biggera Waters, Labrador, Southport, Main Beach, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach, Miami and Burleigh Heads will be closed on Sunday April 15 for the marathon.
