Two female police officers have been recognised for their courage and level-headedness after responding to a horrifying scene in Townsville, where they found a blood-soaked man who allegedly murdered someone.

Constables Chloe Turner and Ellie Mason answered a call for service on Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan, on the afternoon of Monday, May 27.

Initially reported as a disturbance with no further information, police said the situation quickly escalated upon their arrival.

In the rear car park of a Thai restaurant, the constables confronted Lar Sue, 31, covered in blood and questioned him about his welfare.

Acting with remarkable composure, the officers assessed the situation using effective communication skills and subsequently arrested and restrained the suspect.

Inside the unit, Constable Turner discovered Sue’s wife, Meibao Liang, who was visibly distressed and a man who had sustained significant stab wounds.
