A man was arrested in Ayr on Thursday following an alleged domestic violence incident.
Police allege the 35-year-old threatened a woman with a firearm on May 16 in Brandon, no one was injured and a gel blaster was seized during the arrest.
He was charged with contravention of a domestic violence order, breach of bail condition, possessing utensils or pipes and threatening violence - discharge firearms.
He appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday where he was refused bail.
Detective Inspector Damien Smith said police take a “zero-tolerance” approach to domestic and family violence.
“It’s important that while we hold perpetrators accountable, we also support victim-survivors and protect them from further harm,” he said.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic and family violence, you should report it to the police.
