It’s puzzled North Queenslanders for months, and now the highly sought after Golden Food Truck has been found by a Kirwan family.
Emma and David Smith went searching on Friday morning, after it was confirmed one of the clues was referring to a strangler fig.
The pair said they were “over the moon” when they found the truck at Canara Park.
“It was a shock, I wanted to just put it in my pocket and get into the car,” Ms Smith said.
The family had been searching for the truck since the hunt was announced, and Ms Smith said she kept coming back to the park.
“We actually returned to that park three times,” she said.
“I figured out the clues the night before, and it led me to that park, but we checked and we couldn’t see anything.”
“We went back again last week, and we didn’t find anything again.”
Ms Smith said the $9k will go towards a house being built by the family, and help support her friend.
Hunt organiser Cliff ‘CK’ Kern will be breaking down the clues soon, and encouraged locals to keep their eyes out, with the Silver Food Truck coming soon.
