From horror mazes to haunted rides and daring nights for a cause, here is our list of spooky shindigs for families, party animals and thrillseekers this Halloween.

Scary season is off with a bang as all things creepy, kooky and spooky take over Toowoomba.

From Halloween trivia to costume parties and glow-in-the-dark discos, there is something for all ages this year.

Here are some of the spine-tingling Halloween events set to transform Toowoomba into a ghostly playground, with exclusive activities for both families and adult revellers.

Trick or Treat

Haunt your way across the neighbourhood.

On Friday October 31, many Halloween enthusiasts across the region have announced they will open their doors trick or treaters.

Dress up in your spookiest costumes and look out for the haunted homes welcoming trick or treaters this year!

Toowoomba Hospice and Ambulance Wish QLD trivia night

Enjoy a frightfully fun night of trivia while making terminally ill patient’s dreams come true.

Toowoomba Hospice and Ambulance Wish QLD will host a trivia night at Tailgate Sports Bar this Thursday October 30 from 6pm.

Funds raised will support the Ambulance Wish program which ensures terminally ill residents can fulfil their last wishes and create treasured memories with loved ones before their death.

A ghoulishly good prize worth more than $1000 will be handed out to the night’s best dressed quiz participants, along with cash prizes and raffle giveaways.

Tickets are $30 per person with all proceeds split equally between Ambulance Wish QLD and Toowoomba Hospice.

Halloween Parties (18+ only)

Halloween fun isn’t just for young ghouls and gals with plenty of themed parties kicking off this All Hallow’s Eve.

Join the crew at Flipp’d Arcade and Diner on Friday October 31 from 6pm where themed cocktails will be served and costume prizes are ready to be won.

Blink and you’ll miss it, a special pinball game will be available to play for this weekend only!

Double the daring fun, the Tatts Hotel will host two freaky nights of fun starting from 9pm on Friday and Saturday night.

Costumes are the name of the game, with party goers invited to extend their creative minds to design an outfit using anything but clothes on Friday’s ABC night or come dressed as an dearly departed icon at Saturday’s Dead Famous event.

Not to be missed, The Cube Hotel will host a night of fright on Saturday from 8pm with participants encouraged to dress up in their most twisted creations.

From spooky drinks to fortune tellers, it will be a night to never forget.

Flipp’d Family Arcade

Not wanting to leave the little ones out of the fun, Flipp’d Arcade and Diner will host a spooktacular family arcade event on Friday October 31 and Saturday November 1.

The scare level will be kept to a minimum, making sure children of any age can enjoy the spooky festivities while playing games and hunting for treats.

The first fifty kids through the doors will also receive a treat-filled gift bag, so make sure you get in fast!

Doors open from 2pm to 5pm on Friday and 12pm to 5pm on Saturday.

City Golf Club Halloween

Enjoy some Halloween tunes and a night on the green at City Golf Club this Friday October 31.

With prizes are available for the best costumes of the night, live music to get your bones grooving, mini golf and driving range activities and lollies for young ghouls and ghosts – it is a night of fun for everyone.

Entry opens from 7pm to 9pm.

Cambooya Hall Halloween

For just one gold coin, enter a haunted world of ghoulish delight at the Cambooya Public Hall this Friday October 31.

From spooky mazes, to food trucks, a glow-in-the-dark disco and even a fully stocked bar for grown-up trick or treaters, get ready for a night of Halloween fun.

Don’t miss wandering magician Dave Lord who will be showing off his spellbinding skills throughout the night!

Doors open from 5pm to late.

Parent supervision is required for all child attendees.

Tinker Creepy Craft

Get crafty this Halloween at the Tinker Art School.

Drop in any time between 5pm and 7pm on Friday October 31 at their Stephen Street studio for a night of spooky fun.

Pre-order limited wood art projects at tinkerart.com.au to secure your desired items before they sell out or choose from an array of crafts on the day, including necklace kits, cauldron designs and skeleton head paintings.

Price is determined on your art project of choice.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Bernborough Tavern Horror Maze

Enter, if you dare.

Oakey’s Bernborough Tavern will be opening their horror maze once again this Friday October 31.

Inside trick or treaters will find zombies, witches, vampires and creepy creations of the mind.

Escape and collect your treat on the way out!

The maze will open from 4pm to 5.30pm for all ages, with a second session at 6pm to 7.30pm recommended for older children.

Under 10s must be accompanied by an adult.

DownsSteam Toowoomba Steam Train

Take a spooky night train through Toowoomba with DownsSteam this Halloween.

Climb aboard the historic locomotive for a night of ghouls, ghost stories and lighthearted scares.

Every child will receive a trick or treat and best dressed prizes from the most creative costumes.

All ages are welcome with tickets available at downssteam.com.

The train will depart from Toowoomba Railway Station at 6pm and return at 8pm on Friday October 31.
