ISLA kid you not, Isla is the most popular name on the Gold Coast for the second year in a row.
Isla and Noah have topped the local baby name list for 2020 state government figures reveal.
As in 2019, Isla has come out on top as the most popular girls name for the Gold Coast region with Charlotte and Olivia following closely behind.
For the boys the biblical name of Noah topped the charts locally.
The names Oliver and Leo followed.
New additions to the most popular baby name local list include Amelia, Ivy, Chloe, Ella, Luna, Frankie, Mason, Cooper, Thomas and Henry.
Gold Coast doula Laura Haataja, who owns birth support service Birthing from the Heart, said she is seeing two different streams of thought when it came to naming babies.
"We have seen a lot of traditional names but people are still wanting to be individual and coming up with their own," Ms Haataja said.
"You can see a mix of both in some families."
"My son is actually called Noah as well, but spelled Noa - Lots of people like to put their own spin on it. "
Ms Haataja said soon-to-be parents should relax when choosing a name for their new child, and wait for something to click.
"I see plenty of people out searching, asking for advice on forums, but I like to wait for something to come to me.
"It depends on the person, some have names ready to go, others wait to see it.
"Really it should be a fun process."

IN 2019:
FOR soon-to-be parents, it is often the most baffling question in the world – what should we name our new baby?
On the Gold Coast it seems the Islas have it.
That moniker topped the list of favourite baby girl names on the Glitter Strip in 2019, according to new data from Queensland Birth Deaths and Marriages.
The names Willow, Olivia and Evie were next.
For the boys, Oliver, Noah, Leo and Arlo led the way on the Gold Coast.
Across the state, Olivia and Oliver were most popular.

But despite the popularity of these names, none of them made the list for first-time parents Shamus and Rachael Fairhust.
The Burleigh Waters family welcomed their little girl Aurelia Rose Fairhust in mid December.
“We didn’t have any of the top ten names on our radar actually. We wanted something unique,” Mr Fairhurst said.
“Rachael is a speech pathologist in a maternity ward so she knows if there have been half a dozen of a certain name come through, so we were able to avoid that,” he said.
Instead, Aurelia’s unique name came from some of her parents’ favourite movies.
“In Fool’s Gold, one of my favourites, some was shot on the Gold Coast,” he said.
“Aurelia is the name of the ship with treasure they are trying to find.
“A character in Love Actually is also named Aurelia, so we thought it was fitting given she was born so close to Christmas.”

Mr Fairhurst said they also had a boy’s name up their sleeve just in case.
“We are keeping that a secret for now, but haven’t heard of anyone else use it yet,” he said.
“We will just have to wait and see.”
