THE husband of a woman jailed for threatening to “shoot up” a Gold Coast school has asked the community to stop abusing his family and “move on”.

Craig Jaundrell says he has been living in “hell” since his wife Stacey was sentenced to 20 months in prison for putting Upper Coomera State School into lockdown in June. She was released on October 9 on appeal for a lighter sentence, which includes a two year probation order.

Jaundrell, 36, created a fake Facebook profile in the name of a student and then used that profile to threaten the school on June 10 and 11.

“I am shooting up the (expletive) school tomorrow,” one of the messages read.

Jaundrell then, after bail conditions were imposed she not use social media, took her son’s phone on June 18 and used a different Facebook account to make more threats towards the school.

A court was told Jaundrell was trying to protect her daughter from being picked on and felt the school was not doing enough.

Craig Jaundrell said his five children had been “traumatised” by the incident and asked the community to remember the good things his wife had done for the school.

“When Stacey was in jail people were driving past swearing at the house or stopping in the front yard,” he said.

“The community forgot there are children involved and were traumatised, which was what they were mad about in the first place.”

Last month, Mr Jaundrell said his wife copped abuse online while trying to sell Lego on a community group page.

“Wow, must have been a good girl, ur out early. Too bad the poor students and parents still need to get over what u done,” one read.

“Shouldn’t you be banned from social media since getting out of jail?,” said another.

“It’s really a mixed bag on how people react,” Mr Jaundrell said. “It’s the ones that don’t know the full story or really don’t care that you get the problems with.

“The sad thing is these people forget what good Stacey did for the community, the school wouldn’t have warm track pants for the kids if she didn’t make a noise about it.

“Not to mention the hampers she organised with charities for people in need. All that is forgotten.

“Honestly, what Stacey has done and what she has said are two different things.

“She hasn’t got a violent bone in her body. There are other keyboard warriors are out there. She just wants to move on.”

Mr Jaundrell said the experience had taken a major toll on his family.

“The only way I could describe this experience is hell. The kids were suffering with her away and she was suffering we were trying to keep it all together,” he said.

“After the time spent in there she isn’t going to sneeze in the wrong direction. We all just want to move on.”

The family have moved their children to different schools and plan to leave the area.
